I wonder what happens to the swimsuits & lingerie that models have worn on the catwalk ?

10:10

I have always thought about this: its now a question of hygiene after models have worn clothes that got in contact with their genital area. Does the designer give them for free after the show?

I would also like to know, how the women models, deal with menstruation if they have to walk the runway in lingerie or swimsuits. They always look safe & confident to me?? I ask that bcoz not all women can wear tampons. Does Victoria Secret choose a show date when all the girls are not menstruating?

I would guess that they get to sell them, inasmuch as the models likely wear protective shields.

Same for the ones having their periods, if they cannot wear a tampon, I am sure that they wear protective shields, or so my wife informs me. As you can tell, I am no expect, but the question interested me.

I think the same answer applies to actresses who appear in skimpy underwear that could show too much.

It depends on the item. They are definitely not going to give away their 1million bathing suit or lingerie.. Some of it is given to some models, but most of it just goes back to the designer. Many times they will re-use for fitting purposes, or they get rid of it.

http://www.cafepress.com/stripperstop

umm i think they give them everything they wear for the other question i dunno

There are safe methods which you think are great problems and the same are easily solved by consulting a gynecologist

I've done lingerie shows before where we have gotten to keep the clothes, but most often the clothing stays with the designer or company. Flesh colored g-strings are ALWAYS worn when modeling lingerie or swimwear for hygeine issues.

i belive the girls/blokes who model the under ware/swimsuits get first chance to buy the garments at a reduced price.

good question!

i would say they keep it

We do swimwear shows and photoshoots for our own swimwear line at Tropi-Ties Swimwear. These swimsuits are usually prototypes, so they need to go back to the design room, where they are used to make final adjustments to the patterns and prepare the styles for production. If a model requests something for herself, we can sometimes giver her a suit later on. The girls always wear some sort of hygenic protection and there are also panty shields inside the suit.

The most of the times they will be given to the models!

The models are usually given this merchandise.

Why are the olympic uniforms in swimsuits, trunks and gymnastic gear so revealing?

10:10

I know that some of the swimsuits are high for mobililty in the water and also includes the gymnastic uniforms, but why do they have to be that way? You can literally see a person's butt almost hanging out of their uniforms. That's not a good sight for people that have weak minds like child predators if you know what I mean.

Well it's not like any of the swimmers or gymnasts are hideously ugly or morbidly obese covered in cellulite so I don't find it that bad.

The swimmers and gymnasts' uniforms are designed to be lightweight so they can move freely without heavy clothing weighing you down (imaging swinging up on the high bar with a baggy shirt flapping all over the place or trying to win a gold medal in swimming whilst being slowed down by a saggy pair of board shorts.)

Also it's not that revealing, the men gymnasts generally all wear leotards with striupp pants or leggings (which is a shame) and the swimmers don't even have their chests exposed (expect for maybe after the race when they pull the swimsuit/wetsuit down).

The gymnast's leotards aren't that horrible either, it would just be so much harder to compete if everyone was trying to be modest.

I assume the uniforms worn by gymnasts and other participants are designed with form and function in mind, but I feel like some also have an eye turned toward tradition. I'm an 18 year old guy, so of course when I'm watching volleyball I can't help but notice that some of the women are attractive, and there's nothing wrong with that or what the competitors wear. I live down in Long Beach and I know how hot it gets playing beach volleyball, the women down at the sand courts on Manhattan beach dress pretty much like the pros, they wear bikinis.

They could probably make less revealing outfits for the female gymnasts but it seems like that style is a tradition now, either way I'm just not buying the argument that having 16 year old girls in outfits that resemble one piece swimsuits is so bad. Child predators are going to be child predators whether they change gymnastic uniforms or not, I don't think the olympics have any affect on that, besides, most of the gymnasts are legally adults(at least for the USA). If a child predator wanted a view of girls in similar outfits they could just go down to the local pool during the summer instead of watching NBC, I think you're making way too huge a deal out of athletic uniforms when there's really nothing to get alarmed over.

i assume the uniforms are also made for easy movability.

i don't know about the girls in gymnastics, but some of the guys will wear pants or shorts. (which is a disappointment for me. lol there was a cute german gymnast on last night, but he had a pair of shorts on)

personally, i disagree. i mean, if the guy swimmers had boobs, then i would agree, but other than that...

Yeah i noticed that with volleyball and gymnastics. I really have no idea why they would do that.

sex sells doesn't it. How many MEN will tune into volleyball for the beach? Think about it.

What are those swimsuits the female swimmers are wearing?

10:09

I was wondering what kind of swimsuits the female swimmers are wearing in the Olympics. Also do they have any in smaller sizes because I'm not a tall person therefore I don't wear those huge sizes. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

They are wearing the lazr but im sorry to tell you you cannot buy one of those suits they have decided that they will be only selling them to dealers who are willing to buy hundreds of thousands of them at at time and they cost over $900, so it will be very rare to find one and they wont be selling them for months.

those are speedo lzr suits they go for about $1000 and last for about seven swims. If you are serious about getting a swim suit like that I suggest swimming fast so that they will offer you one.

a lot of them are wearing speedo lzr... and I think they come in size 28 and up! although they are like $550.00...that's A LOT of money.

i swam at junior nationals a few weeks ago and they offered me a lzr racer which is what they are wearing im 5 '3 and weigh 106. go on the speedo website! or ebay if your looking for a cheaper one. i wear size 24 :)

How to remove musty chlorine smell from swimsuits?

22:35

My kids' swimsuits smell awful. I've tried vinegar, Chlor Out, borax, baking soda, OxyClean, and lemon juice, but nothing has helped. What else could I try, aside from burning them?

I've always washed my suit in woolite after every use. I don't know if it'd take the smell out if it's stuck in the fabric, but my suit doesn't smell like the pool in the slightest.

Try rinsing swimsuits in Sodium Thio Sulfate (AntiChlor).

This chemical has neutral pH and will neutralize Chlorine residue on any fabric (without damaging it).

There are many suppliers in the US or just Google suppliers & chemical name.

Good luck!!

wash it. detergent reacts with the chlorine smell. if not line dry them.

btw the "vinegar" and "lemon juice" probably added to the smell.

Fill up the sink with water and Fabric softener. Let them soak for a day, ring them out then hang in the sun to dry.

Use Woolite, and hand wash it.

What are the disadvantages in full body swimsuits?

22:22

Tell me more about full body swimsuits, why, who. Tell me about anything like diseases that could increase the risks if worn.

They are only usually suited to one stroke because on breastroke, you can't have something that it is really tight around the upper legs, etc. Also, they take a while to get in and out of you, and the really good expensive ones are really tight, and can sometimes stop you breathing or give you stomach cramps.

Most of the answers I have seen so far for your question seem to be referring more toward the suits that offer thermal insulation suit as wetsuits which can be cumbersome for swimming. But there are full body lycra suits that snorkelers use. See the link below that would not hinder swim strokes. Snorkelers use then for protection against U.V. rays and accidental contact with marine life such as jellyfish. They allow full range of motion. The lycra suits are easy to get on and to takeoff as well.

As far as any diseases? Unless you have an allergy to lycra products then it should not be a problem as the lycra suits are machine washable.

Full body swimsuits sort of impairs your range of motion in your legs and arms. There are really no risks for diseases if you wear them. I would say the only risk is overheating if you are wearing one in warm water. I would recommend wearing a full body suit in cold water.

Swimsuits?

21:30

I am wondering what the difference between "speedos" and swimsuits are. I am 14 and not sure which ones I should buy. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Trunks are better the speedos....girls dont like guys in speedos

NEVER everrr do speedos. they're those tight swimming things guys wear that are shaped like briefs. I prefer board shorts. go to pacsun.com and go see their boardshorts

Do Asian girls look good in swimsuits?

18:28

I'm sorry, but I just don't think that they do. Most East Asian girls are too pale for swimsuits. I'm not trying to talk bad. I'm Asian myself, and I think that Asian girls are some of the cutest out there. They just don't look good in a two piece bikini.

I don't think looking pale has anything to do with it. Most of the girls of Asian decent that I have seen have little or none up top and many have boyish type figures which is not conducive to a two piece bathing suit or a bikini. A two piece suit does not look good on a flat chest.

YES!!!!! i am asian and i look faboulous in a bikini!!!!!

i think they look great

Asian girls look good, period.

I think they absolutely do - and so do all other girls !!

Asian girls are usually skinny enough to look good in a two piece.

I think you are wrong, and could have low self esteem.

Asian girls do look good in swimsuits! It just depends on body shape and color & style of bikinis!

anyone with a good body can look good in a swimsuit, you dont need to be tan.

well that's why some get tans?

and that's what you think.

i barely get pale, but even if i was, your opinion wouldn't stop me.

apparently my boyfriend isn't complaining.

every girl looks good in swimsiuts. the beauty of the world is in a womans smile :)

Just having big boobs and a nice figure (regardless of race) looks good in a bikini.

You are a racist idiot and don't deserve a girlfriend.

Anyone can look good in a swim suit, even with a pale skin, especially if they wear a color that flatters them. Pale skin often looks good with black, dark red or royal blue.

I'm Asian too!

I think it REALLY depends on your body type figure, look at Nicole Scherzinger, she's Asian with a really nice figure :)

How did the swimsuits for swimmers in the olympics change over time?

01:02

I have to write an essay on this PLEASE tell me stuff about it....thanx

Swimsuits have changed as new materials have been introduced.

Swimsuits in the mid-20th century were made of wool jersey knit. Then came nylon, which dried much faster, was very durable, but was not stretchy. The most form-fitting designs required a zipper up the back.

Lycra suits came along in the 70's (first worn in Montreal games in '76). For about 20 years, the focus was on making the swimsuit smaller, tighter fitting, and covering less skin.

Since then, new materials have focused on minimizing water absorbtion and flow control. The focus is more on covering more skin.

the suits that they wear are a special fabric called fastskin made by speedo

first it asborbs less water making u weigh less and then it reduces friction less friction faster u go

then it is designed to help water just flow off of it

only problem over time the fabric becomes less like that it will slowly take more water but it is still a good suit

go to speedo.com and read about fastsin

They have covered more skin over time.

Darn Americans are getting too modest.

A lot of the information found out by swim suit designers was found by studying sharks in the ocean. The shark's skin has the same elements swimmers want when going through the water. To find more you can look at iTunes podcasts [Speedo Make Waves].

When the olympics first introduced swimming people swam nude. then they developed the first swim suits (dont know wat they were made out of. in the twentith century speedo came in and inveted a low profile suite they later developed the jammer and then the fast skin whic is worn by mostly all olympic swimmers today. Nike has there version of a fast skin to which provides less drag doesnt asorb mch water and is very tight. swim caps are also used by todays swimmers and of coarse goggles. sorry i didnt know really how to word this hope it helps.

They were all basicly made out of the same matierial then Mark Andrew a consaultent for speed invented a fabric in 1996 that they launched in 1997. It was of coarse the Aquablade. Then speedo decided to try to mimic fishes skins and shark was the only fish they tried and the results they god were awsome. ( Fastskin, Fastskin FS 2) then they found another matierial that is better that that. Fastskin Pro.) And now the LZR racer is basicly the same thing exept the patches helps muscle movment so ther are even better. Thats a basic history of it.

Which fish swim at the top of the tank and what swim at the bottom?

21:17

I want to put some small fish (as small as possible and no more than 3 inches full grown) in with my little tetra (they are neon tetra and rosy tetra). So I want to make my tank pretty and add some fish that swim on the bottom and some that swim on the top that will also get along with me tetra. Thanks!

If you have tetras you should keep them in groups of 5 or more each. That's fine for the neons in a 10 gallon tank but rosy tetras are gonna get too big. If you can take the rosys back to where you got them see if they'll trade them for neons. A big group like 10 or 12 neons will swill all over the tank.

If you don't want all the same thing, you still need to get at least 5 neons and maybe 3 dwarf corys that stay at the bottom and a couple male guppies or a male betta for the top. Don't believe the bull some people will tell you that bettas will kill all the other fish in the tank. They only fight with other bettas and fish that look like bettas, so corys and neons would be okay.

If you have the right amount of both species of fish in your tank (6+ each) your tank is already fully stocked. I dont recommend adding any more stock to the ten gallon.

However, if you MUST add fish, add around 5 corydoras of the same species, they are a shoaling fish and need a group. Do your research smaller species such as panda corys are about they only thing that will fit comfortably in a ten gallon tank. Also these fish need a soft or smooth substrate due to the sensitivity of their barbels. They will cruise the bottom of the tank and keep it clean, supplement that with algae wafers and or sinking pellets.

Referrer: WILD TURKEY

your tetras obviously swim wherever they want but fish that swim on to or bottom are

TOP Dwelling fish

-Upside Down catfish

-Guppies (swim middle to upper lvls)

BOTTOM

Snails (get different colors so they dont over populate)

-Corydoras(cory for short) catfish

I can't name that many that grow 3 inches or less, im sorry.

Not that many top or bottom dwelling fish are compatible with neon tetras.

fish swim wherever they want :P

get some small placoes
